On Joomla 3 fork - extensions opportunity

As some of you know, Joomla 3 has been forked and it's up and flying. Security fixes and more have been backported, in line with the recent releases.
Further more, development and support will continue in the future.
Github official repo and changelog:

Joomla 3 fork, currently at 3.14, is here to stay. Extensions restart is all that remains.

All Joomla extensions are GPL. No permission is needed to use, distribute or resell Joomla extensions:
Extensions and GPL - Joomla! Documentation

There are many good extensions for J3, simply abandoned and unsupported. There is no reason to remain that way.
We need people and some organizing. Who will take over what and how development will continue.

On a personal note, I have no issues with payment - but you pay the developer for support and for continuing developing useful extensions. Right now, there are few extensions left that are supported for J3. Abandonment was somewhat hasty, J 4/5/6 proved to be a disaster, everyone left (and versioning obession didn't help either).

Now things are sobering up.
Any developers interested in taking over good extensions, which were left unsupported, and continue development, note that there is much need for this, plus customers. As always, aim for quality, trusworthiness and solid work.

The J3 repo has a discussion forum, where you can inform users when something is available.

What you described isn't an official release from the official Joomla website https://downloads.joomla.org/cms/joomla3. Please don't mislead people. Joomla 3 ended on July 11, 2023. Extensions that aren't included in newer versions are mostly unnecessary on current versions. Update older Joomla versions to the latest current versions, and you'll be happy. If you need help with this, please contact me privately.

If you had bothered to visit the repo, you would know it is a community project, not related to the others.

We' re done with those. There is a very good reason, when about 80% of website owners and companies who had been recommending J3 to their customers, got held hostages, with demands to switch to a buggy version or else. And everyone left.
This is simply something you don't do. Artifically-induced incompatibility only made things worse. And let's not get into the fact that a certain politicizing took place - which is also a no-go zone.

Things have taken the direction of a fork now and as I said, there is plenty of work for developers there.
Although with professional AI nowadays, workload is much less. :)

PS: I had already seen your work profile in the past and I like your work - it's quite good. I do not need something personally, but should the occasion come up I would certainly recommend you.

I am sticking with Joomla 3. I use it and can run it with PHP 8. I am confident that Joomlaworks is a trusted developer.. cheerrrr! 😙
They are decent and reliable. Did some excellent work on security fixes too.

The core is as good as it gets and runs on all cylinders.
Recently, I used a subscription AI model, to bring other elements in line with the core. it only took 2 days.

Even when you know little programming, you can actually develop any component you need. Or take an old one, remake it, customize it or turn it to something different. There is less dependency now on developers - but of course good and reliable professionals will always be rewarded.
