New version of Helpdesk Pro, version 6.0.0. In this version, we decided to start dropping support for Joomla 3 and focus future development of the extension for Joomla 4, Joomla 5 and future Joomla versions only. For Joomla 3, we will only release new version if there is bug fixes, no new features will be added for Joomla 3 version.

1. Raise PHP and Joomla Version Requirement

- Minimum PHP version now is PHP 7.4.0
- Minimum Joomla version requirement is now 4.2.0 (better uses latest Joomla 4.4.x if you are using Joomla 4)

2. Code Clean Up

In earlier version of Helpdesk Pro, we have to maintain old code to support Joomla 3. From this version, we drop support for Joomla 3, so we spent time to clean up code to use latest Joomla API, remove the code which is needed to have the extension works well with Joomla 3.

Also, support for Twitter Bootstrap 2 and Twitter Bootstrap 3, Twitter Bootstrap 4 was removed because on Joomla 4 and Joomla 5, most customers are using Twitter Bootstrap 5 and UIKIT 3 (from Yootheme).

3. Convert Helpdesk Pro Plugins To New Structure

Joomla 4 introduces new plugin structure which make it faster for plugins to run. As we dropped support for Joomla3, we could convert all plugins in the extension to use new structure, result in cleaner code and performance improvement.

This is just a maintenance release which we updated code of the extension to framework FileSystem package to replace CMS FileSystem Package (which was deprecated and will be removed in Joomla 6)

Dear customers !

I’m happy to announce the release of Helpdesk Pro version 6.4.1! This release focus on technical improvements and make sure it is working well with latest Joomla 6.1.2 release:

1. Compatible with Joomla 6.1.2
Joomla 6.1.2 added a backward incompatible changes to improve security for upload files processing. We updated code in Helpdesk Pro to make sure it is working well with that latest Joomla release.

2. Modernize Events Trigger
We updated code in Helpdesk Pro to use modern Joomla event trigger (instead of the old way uses triggerEvent method from application). This will help Helpdesk Pro continue working well with future releases of Joomla when this old method is removed.

Please update your site to latest version 6.4.1 of Helpdesk Pro to uses these improvements and especially, make sure the extension works well with latest Joomla release 6.1.2. Thanks for continue using our extensions and support our development
